I am a Principal at McInnes Wilson Lawyers, having joined the firm in 2011. I have extensive experience in insurance litigation and dispute resolution, and enjoy working on complex and challenging claims.
Having worked in a number of practice areas, I was drawn to the Personal Services by the complex and diverse array of claims and the challenges they each pose.
The consequences of events on my client’s lives can be significant - each case is an opportunity for me to improve the lives of my clients and their families. I get satisfaction knowing that I have made a difference in their lives.

I am passionately associated with Brain Injury Australia and the Brain Injury Foundation. I have worked closely with Queensland's preeminent cycling organisation, Bicycle Queensland, proudly for almost 9 years now.

Wendy Beresford
Medical Negligence Lawyer passionate about children's health
Wendy is an experienced medical negligence lawyer, who also practices in catastrophic & complex personal injuries resulting from motor vehicle, work accidents and public liability accidents. She provides comprehensive legal advice with empathy and compassion. She offers add on services such as Total & Permanent Disability, Death Benefit claims and estate planning.
Her experience in medical negligence includes birth injuries, failure to diagnose cancer, failed & inappropriate surgeries causing catastrophic injuries like amputations or brain injury, failure to diagnose post-operative complications by emergency departments and other medical providers.
Being a mother and grandmother, Wendy understands how vulnerable women are during pregnancy and birth, particularly when they have limited choices and must trust the care, treatment and advice of professional medical staff.
Wendy is also interested in surgeries that have gone wrong. Treatment providers set out to do a good job, as by law they are not required to do a perfect job. Wendy believes they should be held accountable for the injuries they cause through negligence.
Many of Wendy’s clients have debilitating injuries affecting not only their everyday life but their families’ as well. Many clients require care and assistance from friends and family to perform the simple tasks most of us take for granted. If her clients return to work, they are often not in a position to perform their duties to the same degree as prior to their injury and many face lower incomes or worse, unemployment.
Wendy believes her clients deserve compensation to enable them to live with dignity, obtain care & assistance as well as the rehabilitation they require through no fault of their own.

Bachelor of Laws
Rose, our Law Graduate, finds fulfillment in blending legal expertise with empathy.
"Advocating for women who have experienced birth trauma allows me to blend my legal knowledge with compassion, working towards justice for those who have suffered trauma at one of life’s most significant events. It is the stories of these women who trust us to assist them in their claim which makes work like this so fulfilling."
